We specialise in shipping, commodities, insurance and commercial litigation.
 
Members of the firm
 
George Arghyrakis was called to the Bar in 1984 and was at Richards Butler from 1988 to 2003 (partner since 1994). He has a degree in English and Philosophy (Joint Honours) from Bristol University. He specialises in Shipping and has dealt with innumerable cases in the Commercial Court and in Arbitration. He is a supporting member of the LMAA.

Louise Glover qualified in 1982 and was at Richards Butler until 1991 and at Holmes Hardingham until 2004 when she moved to Davies Johnson & Co in Plymouth. She has a degree in Law from Manchester University. She specialises in shipping and trade law and increasingly in ship construction and sale and purchase disputes. She is also a CEDR- accredited Mediator and has lectured widely to the industry on mediation.

Lara McDonnell obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and LLB degree from the University of Cape Town, where she developed an abiding interest in maritime law. Lara qualified as an Attorney in South Africa and shortly thereafter as a Notary Public. Upon arriving in England she successfully completed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test to qualify as a solicitor in November 2004. She qualified as a Notary Public in April 2008.

Drewry Cooper trained at a commercial firm in Holborn before deciding to specialise in shipping. He developed an interest in the subject while studying law at Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium and at Trinity College, Dublin, where he received his LLB degree. He is a keen sailor and considers himself lucky to be able to apply his love of all things nautical to his professional life. He was admitted to the roll of solicitors in 2008.

Liz Watton qualified as a solicitor in December 2003 having completed her training contract with a firm at Liverpool. She has a degree in Law from Staffordshire University and completed her LPC at the College of Law, Chester. She has developed a keen interest in shipping law and has a particular interest in the consequences of piracy on the shipping industry.

Jason Theo-George Charalambous completed his Law Degree at King’s College London. He is currently a legal assistant in all areas of shipping. He was called to the Bar in July 2009 and is currently re-qualifying as a solicitor.
