World Management's 53,000-dwt bulker Eleftheria (built 1983) and Deval Shipping's 16,000-dwt bulker Hakki Daval (built 1978) collided near the Algerian coast on Sunday.
The Panama-flag Eleftheria was en route from Lisbon to Ancona with a cargo of soya beans. Reports say the ship has sustained “topside” damage and is to arrive at Ancona on 11 June.
